Preschool, also known as pre-enrollment for school, is for all incoming kindergarten children and serves as the transition from daycare or home to primary school.

Children start preschool on April 1st.

It is not an educational offering but rather a childcare option that can be compared to daycare services. Children will be cared for in the school's SFO.

You can enroll your child in SFO Preschool at the same time as you enroll them in primary school.

During the preschool period from April 1st to July 31st, you can choose from the following modules:

• Morning module + school hours (6 AM - 2 PM)
• School hours (8 AM - 2 PM)
• School hours + afternoon (8 AM - 5 PM)
• Full-day placement (6 AM - 5 PM)

All children in SFO Preschool will automatically be transferred to a corresponding SFO module on August 1st (e.g., SFO Preschool full-day becomes SFO full-day).

If your child is enrolled in school hours (8 AM - 2 PM), please be aware that it cannot be transferred to a corresponding SFO module and will therefore be automatically withdrawn on July 31st.

If your child is enrolled in kindergarten, they can start in SFO Preschool on April 1st of the same calendar year. You should enroll your child in SFO Preschool simultaneously with the digital enrollment for school.

You can choose between SFO Preschool in the morning from 6 AM - 2 PM, SFO Preschool in the afternoon from 8 AM - 5 PM, or SFO Preschool for the full day from 6 AM - 5 PM.

When the preschool period ends, your child will still be enrolled in SFO in the chosen module starting from August 1st.

If your childcare needs change, you can modify the modules here at: Min pladsanvisning . Changes will take effect after one month.

If you need to withdraw your child from SFO Preschool, please note that there is a one-month notice period on any arbitrary date.

To make payment convenient for you, we have combined the invoicing for daycare and SFO into one Direct Debit Service (PBS) agreement group.

This means that when your child switches from kindergarten to SFO/Preschool, you are automatically enrolled in the payment service.

If your child has been enrolled in kindergarten, and payment has been made through the payment service, the PBS agreement will continue for SFO/Preschool.

You can choose the following modules:

(The opening and closing times of the modules may vary depending on your childcare needs at each SFO and the individual school's bell schedules).

If you wish to switch to a cheaper module, please note that there is a one-month notice period. You can change the module from any arbitrary date.

Please be aware that there is a one-month notice period. You can withdraw your child from any arbitrary date. This also applies if the child moves away from Esbjerg Municipality.

Children in grades 4 - 6 can use the morning module in the SFO. The fee is the same as for other children in the morning module – See rates.

You can have your child cared for in SFO and Center SFO in weeks 28, 29, and 30.

The fee for care in weeks 28, 29, and 30 is a fixed amount per started week that you have enrolled your child. This means that if, for example, you need care for two days in week 28 and three days in week 29, you will pay for two weeks, i.e., 2 times the amount per started week. See rates here.

If you are eligible for free place and sibling subsidies, they also apply here.

You can enroll your child for care in weeks 28, 29, and 30 at Min pladsanvisning. If you do not need care after all, you can also withdraw your child here.

Additionally, Center SFO at Præstegårdsskolen Urban and Vittenbergskolen Vadehav will be open for children who have been enrolled for specific weeks.

If you do not need care, you can withdraw until June 1st. This also needs to be done through Min pladsanvisning.

All SFOs and Center SFOs in Esbjerg Municipality are closed in weeks 28, 29, and 30. We offer shared summer care for children who need it. Please note that the fee is not the same in the summer holiday weeks. The fee for care in weeks 28, 29, and 30 is a fixed amount per started week. Read about rates here.

Our SFOs and Center SFOs are also closed from December 24th to December 31st, both days inclusive, and on the day after Ascension Day. On Constitution Day, they close at 12:00 PM. Please note that alternative care is not provided on these days.

When you want to enroll your child in either a club, recreational club, or youth club, you should do so digitally through Min pladsanvisning.

If you wish to withdraw your child from a club, you should do so digitally at Min pladsanvisning. 

Please note that Recreational Clubs and Youth Clubs require one month's notice. This means that if you, for example, withdraw your child from the recreational club on April 13th, the withdrawal will take effect no earlier than May 13th.

If your child needs to be transferred from one club to another of the same club type, you should make a new enrollment via Min Pladsanvisning.
