If you wish to enroll your child in a daycare facility, we recommend that you add your child to the waiting list as soon as you know when you'll need a spot.

The seniority on the waiting list counts from the day your child is added to a spot. The child with the oldest seniority on the waiting list will have the lowest waiting list number and will be offered a spot first.

You can add your child to one registration district and also have the option to express an unlimited number of preferences for specific daycare facilities or units in the registration district.

Regardless of whether you have specified one or multiple daycare preferences, your child will have the same seniority for all daycare facilities in the registration district.

There is a childcare guarantee for all children from 26 weeks of age until preschool, so you are guaranteed childcare if you choose it in your application.

If you have chosen to be covered by the childcare guarantee, you will be offered a spot within 3 months of registration (1 month for newcomers).

We aim to offer childcare within one of these guaranteed districts in the municipality, based on the registration district to which you have added your child:

• Hjerting-Esbjerg NV and Sædding-Gjesing
• Midt- and Østerbyen, Tjæreborg-Esbjerg Ø, and Jerne-Spangsbjerg
• Bramming area
• Ribe area

You can expect to be offered a spot 1-2 months before your child is due to start daycare.

In the allocation of spots, we allocate available spots based on your child's seniority on the waiting list. We strive to fulfill your preference, and if it's not possible, we will contact you to discuss alternative options.

When you receive an offer for a spot, you should respond to the offer on Minpladsanvisning. If you accept the spot, you should then contact the daycare facility. If the offer is for daycare, you will be contacted to arrange a presentation meeting at the daycare home before your child can start.

Once you've accepted the offered spot, your child will be enrolled in the daycare facility. Enrollment can occur on any date of the month, depending on when the spot becomes available.
