Jernved and Jernvedlund

Jernved and Jernvedlund are located by Kongeådalen surrounded by smaller forests and nature. The city consists of the two districts Jernved and Jernvedlund.

Green and vibrant village

Jernved and Jernvedlund are located in the Kongeå valley and are surrounded by small woods and nature. The town consists of two districts: Jernved and Jernvedlund. The recreational areas around the town provide good opportunities for outdoor activities, horse riding and fishing. The many narrow lanes give the town a special charm.

Many families with children live in Jernved and Jernvedlund. In the town, you will find mostly older detached properties in areas with a village environment and estate housing on larger land plots in green surroundings. There are also a few rental properties and terraced homes. Throughout the area near the town there are also many properties that used to be farms.

There is good access to the countryside around the town and good bike paths to Gredstedbro and Bramming.

Surrounded by beautiful nature

Jernved and Jernvedlund lie southeast of Esbjerg and north of Ribe and have approx. 700 inhabitants.

Community spirit

Jernved and Jernvedlund are characterized by solidarity and an environment that produces very committed residents who have, for example, worked together to establish the activity centre. Currently they are working on putting together a new culture building.

The town is dynamic and offers many activities such as lectures, flea markets, a town festival and communal meals. The associations and numerous events have created a good sense of community and solidarity in the town.

There are several small businesses and furniture companies, as well as a dairy with its own shop.

Several burial mounds in the Plougstrup area testify that people settled here as early as the Stone Age and the Bronze Age.

Schools, after-school care (SFO) & clubs

Esbjerg Municipality is divided into seven school districts and a district named city of children. Children in Jernved and Jernvedlund belong to Vadehavskolen in Gredstedbro. There is a school bus service to Gredstedbro, and several groups of children meet up to cycle to school each morning on the bike path.
