Esbjerg C - Strandby and Vesterby

Historic Strandby included the current Strandby and Vesterby, which is located in the northern extension of the inner city.

Neighbourhood with charm and culture

The area’s borders run all the way down to the harbor, and due to its location – within walking distance of the city’s amenities as well as to Vognsbøl, which is home to Esbjerg Sports Park and the park Vognsbølparken – it is considered a popular place to live.

In Strandby, you can experience everything from the quiet villa streets to the culture at the Tovværksområde, an area where rope was manufactured, and today you will find the Esbjerg Swimming Stadium.

Strandby is an area that has an urban character with broad streets and high building facades. Here you can find many cooperative housing options, which reflect that the area’s powerhouse was the rope factory in the start of the 1900’s.

In Vesterby, you can find many of Esbjerg’s first city houses, near Vesterhavsgade, while along Strandbygade near Strandby Plads and on Stormgade you will find apartment blocks constructed for the higher density, urban, inner city. Out towards Frodesgade there is a small villa district. The park Strandbyparken provides a green oasis for the area.

Close to town and the sports arena

Strandby and Vesterby are located in the northern part of Esbjerg C within walking distance of the inner city and have approx. 7,400 inhabitants.
