Darum

Darum is one of the villages with the most space to live, play and build a home with the family, and there are many green, open areas.

The village behind the dike

Darum is one of the villages, which in terms of area, has the most space and there are many green and open areas in the settlement.

In Darum you will find many well-preserved farms and houses as well as newer houses and buildings in a green and naturally scenic environment amongst the marshlands. Nearby the sea dike, there are views of the Wadden Sea towards Fanø and Mandø.

The nature in the Wadden Sea creates the basis for activities such as outdoor recreation, tourism, and agriculture.

Darum is located southeast of Esbjerg and approx. 1,300 people live in the city.

 Community Spirit

Darum is a village with a strong community spirit and many social activities, including community feasts, yearly barbecue party, city festival, fastelavn party, children’s Christmas celebration and Christmas bazaar. The village offers an active association life including hunting, FDF (scouts), art and lectures, theatre, Zumba, tennis, yoga, volleyball, indoor cycling, handball, football, gymnastics, badminton and billiards.

Close to nature

Darum is the closest neighbour to Denmark's largest national park, the Wadden Sea.

A town for kids

Darum culture and leisure center, kindergarten, school, after-school care (SFO), and leisure and youth club are located in one area and cross collaborate with one another. Darum is known for offering good transition for children from kindergarten to school and after-school care as well as from the local school’s 6th grade to the 7th grade in Bramming.

Esbjerg Municipality is divided into seven school districts and Darum district named city of children. Children in Darum attend the school in Darum city of children from grade 0-6 and continue at Fortunaskolen at Bakkevej in Bramming from grade 7-9. A school bus service connects Darum to Bramming.
