Registration with the authorities
On this page, we try to guide you through registration with the authorities in Denmark. You are always welcome to contact us if you need additional help.
MitID
MitID is a digital signature used to log on to public websites, for online banking and many other digital services.
eBoks
eBoks is a secure electronic mailbox used to receive digital mail from the public authorities as well as some suppliers from the private sector, such as your bank.
You can sign up and log on to e-boks at eBoks.dk using your MitID. First time you log on please choose 'new user'.
If you click 'yes' to activate and synchronize with Digital Post when you register at eBoks, you will automatically be able to access mail from both public authorities and the private sector. If you do not click 'yes' to activate and synchronize with Digital Post, you will also need to register yourself as a new user for Digital Post at borger.dk, and regularly check your Digital Post mailbox in addition to your eBoks.
eBoks is available in English and is also downloadable as an app, after you have signed up.
Citizen Service Centres
The Citizen Service Centres provide a wide range of services to residents of the municipality, from initial registration upon your arrival in Denmark to exchanging your driver’s license and helping you obtain a NemID. You will find the Citizen Service Centres in Esbjerg Municipality below.
